Production Roaster

DUTIES

  • Organization of incoming green coffee shipments for proper placement within establishment.
  • Loads green coffee into buckets to be scaled and transferred into roaster.
  • Prepares various coffee blends according to established formulas.
  • Learns the process of roasting coffee using machinery and Cropster computer program.
  • Learns and performs roaster set-up for each roast using established procedures as guidelines and adjusting as needed.
  • Learns establishment of roasting quality standards.
  • Participate in coffee cupping sessions to perform quality assessment.
  • Clean Roasters and other equipment in the Roasting and Green Coffee packaging area per maintenance schedules and as directed by Head Roaster.
  • Performs all related job duties as required. 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Reliability is paramount.
  • Individual must demonstrate flexibility to meet quickly changing production and roasting schedules.
  • Individual must be able to perform heaving lifting (lift up to 100 pounds) and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Must be able to operate mechanical equipment.
  • Experience with or strong desire to learn about coffee quality and tasting.
  • Good communication and organizational skills
  • Able to take direction and work under pressure
  • Able to accurately follow directions and established formulas.
  • Able to perform physical requirements of position
  • Able to work well with a team

- Coffee cupping with roasting team

- Quality assessment of roasted coffee samples

- Thoroughly clean Roaster
